An Upscale Version of Leo’s Classic T-style

The Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Classic is an upscale version of Leo Fender’s traditional single-cutaway bolt-on electric guitar. Made in Fullerton, California, this solidbody electric is built around a sweet-sounding swamp ash body, while a Modern Classic-shaped hard-rock maple neck and smooth 9.5”-radius fingerboard ensure super-comfortable playability. The Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Classic twangs, spanks, and clucks like it’s nobody’s business, thanks to a set of Leo Fender-designed Magnetic Field Design pickups, and when you switch to the neck position, it delivers round jazz tones that are sure to delight. The G&L Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Classic includes a bevy of top-shelf features, such as a classic boxed-steel bridge, sealed-back tuners, a bone nut, and a vintage-style 1-ply black pickguard.

Swamp ash body yields a balanced musical tone

The Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Classic features a solid swamp ash body — a tonewood prized for its musical blend of warmth, brightness, and mix-penetrating midrange. This electric guitar’s hard-rock maple neck boasts a Modern Classic profile, which includes a 1-11/16” nut width and 1-5/8” string spacing to enable a generous edge roll for maximum comfort without string fall-off. This ultra-comfortable neck is capped by an easy-playing 9.5”-radius fingerboard that’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Leo Fender-designed pickups serve up myriad sonic textures

You can coax myriad sonic textures out of the G&L Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Classic. A pair of Leo Fender-designed single-coil Magnetic Field Design pickups houses extra-thick bar magnets that emit ultra-tight magnetic fields. This design produces a massive amount of energy around the coil, ensuring super-strong output and a muscular, percussive attack. The neck pickup is brighter, more powerful, and clearer than traditional alnico T-style neck single-coils, while the bridge pickup offers all the twang, spank, and cluck you can handle. Magnetic Field Design pickups also feature individually adjustable pole pieces to give you complete control over your tone. Whether you’re craving crisp, complex harmonics or smooth, round jazz tones, the Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Classic will do it.

Leo's favorite creations

After founding two hugely successful guitar brands and consulting on the side, Leo Fender felt that he had unfinished business in the guitar world. Together with partner George Fullerton, G&L opened for business in 1979 and incorporated innovative design elements into their instruments, such as the Magnetic Field Design pickups, Dual-Fulcrum Vibrato, Saddle-Lock Bridge, and Bi-cut neck design. Leo was so proud of his new instruments that he famously declared that G&L's "are the best instruments I have ever made." Play a G&L today and experience the magic for yourself.

I love this guitar!

2 great pieces of wood, 2 great pickups, taller than wider frets. I have no complaints. Thank you Sweetwater, Thank you G&L.

Leo got it right

I've owned several Fender artist series and a few top of the line PRS's, but hands down this is the best guitar I've ever purchased. Absolutely amazing. If you're looking for the perfect telecaster this is it. I also can't think Connor enough for all his help. As always, Sweetwater is the best.

Amazing Guitar

Just got my G&L Fullerton Deluxe ASAT and it is wonderful! The tone is exactly what I am looking for: clean, pricing highs, crunchy lows using the neck pickup.

Run it through some pedals and this guitar has serious crunch. The toughest part was heeding SW's advice to let the guitar sit for 24 hours before unpacking it to let it acclimate to your house's climate.

Also, thanks to Bryan B for excellent customer service.

Superb Value

I purchased my first G&L guitar ( a Legacy) back in 1997. I was impressed than, and I am impressed now.
After owning several custom shop Teles, I elected to give a "modern" G&L a try. To say I am pleased is an understatement. This guitar is fantastic. Fit and finish is as good if/not better than any high end (including Gibson Historics and Fender Custom shop) guitar I have ever purchased. Service, shipping and "the deal" exceeded my expectations.
This was the first guitar I have purchased from Sweetwater and I certainly will not be my last. Well done!

WOW!!!

ASAT Classic in Butterscotch Blonde!!! This is one NICE instrument! Leo Fender really knocked it out of the park with the invention of the tele in 1950 - and this iteration is no less an advancement than what you would expect from G&L. The Magnetic Field Design (MFD) single coils are excellent. The neck pickup yields throaty fullness, perfect for the jazzy stuff I love, and the bridge is just outright tough! Either straight into my amp or through pedals, this guitar sounds incredible. I really like the color also, and the black pickguard is a nice touch - very classic - a look that doesn't go out of style. The brass saddles are a nice touch and easy to adjust to your tastes, but straight from SWEETWATER this guitar was even in tune! WOW!!! I still swapped the strings to my fav's (Elixir's) but that's just because it's what I am used to. All in all, an excellent instrument. G&L is an underrated powerhouse of excellence!
