Will a golf cart fit on a 5x9 trailer? ›

The standard golf cart will fit in a 5X10 utility trailer without any problems, no matter if it is lifted or has a rear seat on the back. If you have a smaller trailer, you may have to load the golf cart backwards so the rear seat foot tray overhangs the front of the trailer.

Trailer Ramps are 100% solid, made with an exclusive patented process that coats high-density expanded foam with a traction surface for a lightweight ramp solution that is strong yet durable. The ramps will not slide, scratch, or otherwise damage any floor type and can hold up to 1,500 lbs.

Trailer ramp lengths can vary anywhere from 45" to 130", however it is ultimately your trailer door measurements and angle of approach that will determine the trailer ramp you need for your vehicle.

If you have a standard sized truck, we recommend 8 foot ramps or longer. For trucks lifted up to four inches, the 9.5 foot ramps are better. If you truck is lifted more than four inches, go with the 11 foot ramp set.

Clear Width: A ramp run must be at least 36 inches wide between the ramp's handrails. Rise: A maximum of 30 inches per run, with no limit on the number of runs. Running Slope: 1:12 maximum slope, or one foot in elevation change for every 12 feet. Cross Slope: The ADA permits a maximum ratio of 1:48.

To calculate the ramp's length, divide the rise by the slope ratio (1:12). For example, if the rise is 24 inches, you would need a ramp that is 24 x 12 = 288 inches or 24 feet long. Include landing platforms at the top and bottom of the ramp. These provide stability and space for users to turn.

You will, of course, have to check that the trailer you are buying can fit your cart. However, a good rule of thumb is that if you have a standard-sized cart, you will need a 5×10 trailer. A smaller cart will fit a 5×8 trailer.

Common Trucks that Will Fit an Average Golf Cart

Popular options include full-size pickup trucks such as the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, and Ram 1500. These trucks typically have long bed options that provide ample space to accommodate a golf cart securely.

Standard golf carts are generally about four feet wide and eight feet long. You can expect most golf carts with standard equipment to measure about six feet in height and weigh 1,000 pounds. Limo carts can be up to four feet longer than regular carts, so be sure you have the space you need to store it!

Most golf carts weigh between 800 and 1,100 pounds. Many factors can impact the weight of your cart, including how many seats it has and its general size and model. Many golf carts can tow around 1,000 pounds, which makes them suitable for hauling smaller loads.
