Take a look inside Sylvester Stallone's former Los Angeles mansion from the Netflix documentary 'Sly' (2024)

Sylvester Stallone initially put the 21,000-square-foot home on the market in January 2021 for $110 million before taking the listing down and lowering the asking price to $85 million. The property is located in Beverly Park, a gated community in Los Angeles. Former listing agent Barron N. Hilton told Insider that A-listers like Justin Bieber and Denzel Washington are among the celebrities that live in Beverly Park. According to Hilton, while Stallone owned it, the Mediterranean-style home had eight bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, and a massive living room with a pool table, "Rocky" pop art, and floor-to-ceiling windows. The oversized windows appeared to be a feature throughout the house. They were also in the kitchen, which had two large islands and a dining nook. The dining nook in the kitchen looked out onto the home's infinity pool. The infinity pool, which was surrounded by pool furniture and a fire pit, had a sculpture of Stallone's iconic Rocky Balboa character on one side. Hilton added that the pool had a built-in spa. Rocky also appeared in the artwork seen in the cigar room, which also had floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of natural light while offering panoramic views of the surrounding lawns and hills. The compound also had a professional theater, as well as a wine cellar, a library that doubled as an office, an eight-car garage, an art studio, and a putting green, Hilton told Insider. According to Forbes, Stallone built the house after buying the parcel of land in the 1990s. In December 2020, he bought a waterfront compound in Palm Beach, Florida, for $35 million. In 2022, British singer Adele bought the mansion for $58 million, and kept the Rocky statue.

In February 2022, the Los Angeles Times reported that Adele had bought Stallone's LA mansion for $58 million, just over half of the original price tag.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal in June, Stallone said that Adele only agreed to buy the property if she could also keep Stallone's life-size statue of Rocky Balboa.

When asked if he wanted to keep the sculpture, Stallone said: "I did. But she said, 'That's a no deal. That's gonna blow the whole deal.' She wanted the statue. I like what she's doing, she's making it gorgeous."

Adele previously told Vogue in 2021 that she's a huge fan of the "Rocky" movies, so it's no surprise that she wanted to keep the statue for herself.

This story was originally published on January 27, 2021, and most recently updated on November 6, 2023.

Disclosure: Mathias Döpfner, CEO of Business Insider's parent company, Axel Springer, is a Netflix board member.
