How hard is it to get into a sorority at FSU? ›

The membership criteria is the basis of how the chapters make their selections. Each year we see less than 5% of women released from the recruitment process.

Of the FSU undergraduates, 22 percent belong to a Greek organization, that's 7,588 students for the 2017-18 school year.

The Kappa Alpha Chapter of Kappa Delta was founded on November 11th 1904. At an impressive 119 years old, Kappa Alpha takes tremendous pride in our history as the oldest Panhellenic chapter on Florida State University's campus.

Fraternity/Sorority Life provides a unique opportunity for students to be a part of a more than 100 year old campus tradition. We foster individual and community development focused on the values of leadership, scholarship, brotherhood/sisterhood, and service.

All of the sororities will have to drop a percentage of potential new members after Round 1. This percentage is different for each sorority. The most competitive sororities will drop the largest percentage (typically 65%+ of all potential new members).

Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. is the largest and fastest growing multicultural sorority in the nation.

Individuals enrolled in the Seminole Pathways programs, including students enrolled at Tallahassee Community College (TCC), are not eligible for membership until they are full-time FSU students at the Tallahassee campus. TCC students who register for IFC rush will NOT be refunded for the registration fee.

The four councils are the Interfraternity Council, the Multicultural Greek Council, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and the Panhellenic Association. These four organizations pride themselves on individuality, while recognizing common values and principles.

How many sororities are there at FSU? ›

The Panhellenic Association is the governing body for 17 women's sororities on campus.

If you want to get in, the first thing to look at is the acceptance rate. This tells you how competitive the school is and how serious their requirements are. The acceptance rate at FSU is 25%. For every 100 applicants, 25 are admitted.

I saw new member fees of about $2000-$3700, out of house dues of $2500-3500 per semester, and in house dues of $3000-4500 per semester.

How do you know what the required GPA is? The Panhellenic required GPA should be listed on your college's Panhellenic website. Most Panhellenic minimum GPAs are around 2.5 to 3.0. However, many times, each sorority's minimum GPA is higher than the GPA on the website.

You usually need to be a full-time student at a four-year college in order to join a sorority. Some colleges don't allow freshmen to join sororities or limit their involvement in them. Sororities emphasize academics, and most have a grade point average requirement between 2.5 and 3.0.

This means the school is quite selective. If you have strong academic scores, you have a great shot at getting in.
